Okay, coloring is my weakness. *points gun at face*
I wanted to try out CG coloring but it didn't come out smoothly for me. Think I'll stick to soft coloring from now on.
Anyhow, the pirate lady stole some jewels, some gold, blah, blah, blah from a mayan temple. However, she failed to read the heliographs on the temple walls that all treasures belong to a Mayan Queen. And the necklace belongs to the queen too. Thy who wears it, shall bear the spirits of decreased mayan tribes.
Haha, awesome bulge there. Looks like it'll be a hard walk back to the ship, hahaha! And hey, I really think the simplistic coloring works for this one!

Pretty good coloring, although I think she needs a slightly darker shade for her skin. Then again, maybe it's just my brightness. Ethier way, it's good, I like her shape. It really looks like the force of gravity is having its way with her.

I think I can see what you mean about colouring being your weakness- I'd say that your linework is better. However, your colouring is still good and better than a lot of other artists out there, so nothing to be ashamed of. I think that the CGing here turned out well, but there's room for improvement. I'm no expert, but I think once you're simply used to CGing you'll be much better, so you could make good improvements without a lot of effort. But then, I could be totally wrong! So I'd suggest you have another bash at CGing, rather than give up without knowing where you could have gone with it.
Your background could use a bit of work too, though, so maybe work on that. Her hair looks kinda floaty, too, I know it's supposed to be in motion, but the rest of the picture doesn't seem to emote that.
And other than that, very good work! Dammit, thanks to Kazuv, the pirate population of dA has absolutely exploded. The Ninja will not be pleased.

And yes, it'll be a hard walk indeed XD
I'm also interested in how you made the leaves on the palm trees. Is that a custom brush?
